PINIKL helps identify the thing, the set of qualities or skills or aptitudes you have that make you unique and extraordinary. But what’s the benefit of knowing that? Crucially, do extraordinary people get more jobs?? Let’s explore.

When you start your career, it can be hard to know where to begin in order to secure a long-lasting, fulfilling job. You might read articles about how there are plenty of jobs out there that pay well and offer benefits, but the reality of finding one can seem daunting.

Where do you even start? Do you need a college degree? What kind? How do you prove you’re qualified for the job without experience? Here are some of the best tips for getting more jobs as an extraordinary person.

Extraordinary people network like crazy

No matter what industry you’re in or what job you want to get, you can’t rely on job postings to get you where you want to go. Instead, you need to build relationships with hiring managers so that they can see your value.

The best way to do this is to network with people in your industry until you’ve got a network so strong you can’t help but find a job. For example, let’s say you want to be a web developer.

Instead of just signing up for a class at a local college, try to find out who the top people in your field are and get to know them. Go to conferences and meetups, find online communities relevant to your industry and make connections in your area.

Extraordinary people learn everything they can before they begin looking

To land a job, you’re going to need to prove that you’re a catch—but you can’t just go up to a hiring manager and tell them that. You need to show them through your resume and cover letter that you’re the right person for the job.

In order to be successful with this strategy, you’ll want to do some research on the company you’re applying to before applying. What kind of work do they do? Who do they serve? What is the company’s mission? What are some of the company’s biggest challenges?

This way, when you apply, you can tailor your resume and cover letter to the company and really show them why you’re the right person for the job.

Extraordinary people are flexible about where they’ll work

If you’re trying to land a dream job, you might be tempted to put down only places where you’d be happy to work.   But if you’re trying to apply for more jobs, you need to be flexible about where you’d work. This way, you can cast a wider net and apply for more jobs, increasing your chances of getting the job you want.

For example, if you’re applying for an administrative assistant job, you might be tempted to write something like, “I would love to work for your company because I love your mission and I think that I would excel at this job because of my background in administrating.”

Instead, try something like, “I would be interested in working for your company because I am looking for a new opportunity and believe that your company would be a great fit for me.”

This way, you’re still showing that you’re a great fit for the job, but you’re also being flexible about where you’d work.

Extraordinary people don't rely on their CV alone

You might think you can just sit back and let the job offers roll in, but unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way. You’re likely to get more job offers if you proactively go out and apply for them than if you just sit back and wait for employers to come to you.

Still, that doesn’t mean you can just send out any resume and get a job. Instead, you’ll want to do what you can to make yourself stand out from the crowd. For example, if you’re applying for a social media manager job, you might want to offer to create a sample social media campaign for the company before you apply.

This way, you’re showing the company that you’ve got what it takes to do the job and demonstrating your value.

Knowing how you’re extraordinary makes it easier

Finding a job is hard, but there are steps you can take to make it a little easier. By networking with people in your industry, learning everything you can about the companies you'd like to work for and being flexible about where you'd like to work and what you'd like to do, you can increase your chances of finding a job that you love.

So when you're applying for jobs, don't rely on your resume alone. Show them what makes you extraordinary! A PINIKL profile is a fun and a great place to start.
